J Turner Counselling
A safe space to explore your feelings
Welcome
J Turner Counselling offers a calm, confidential space where you can talk openly, feel heard, and start to make sense of what’s going on for you. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, navigating family pressures, or simply need time to reflect, I’m here to support you, at your pace.
Meet Jodie
I’m Jodie Turner, a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor based in Luton. I offer remote and telephone counselling to clients across the UK — from the comfort and privacy of your own space.
My path into counselling was shaped by personal experience. During a difficult time in my life, counselling gave me the support I needed to rebuild — and that experience stayed with me. It’s what inspired me to train professionally so I could offer the same space to others.
I hold a Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, and work with warmth, honesty and empathy at the heart of every session. I’m kind, grounded, and fully committed to creating a space where you feel safe, supported and truly listened to.

Ready to take the first step?
Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply need someone to talk to, that first conversation can make all the difference. Book a free 15-minute consultation and let’s explore whether counselling with me feels like the right fit for you.
My approach
Counselling isn’t about being given advice or being told what to do. It’s a space to feel heard, to talk freely, and to begin understanding your thoughts and emotions more clearly.
I work in a non-directive, person-centred way. That means we go at your pace, exploring what feels important to you in each session. I won’t try to “fix” things for you, but I will walk alongside you – helping you build self-awareness and emotional resilience over time.
Sessions take place remotely via video call or telephone, with availability across weekdays and evenings.
We start with a free 15-minute consultation so you can ask questions, share what’s brought you here, and decide whether it feels like a good fit.

Start Your Sessions
If you choose to go ahead, we’ll begin your remote sessions via video call or phone. You set the pace – we’ll explore what feels important to you, in your own time.

Find Clarity and Balance
Through consistent support, you’ll begin to develop deeper self-awareness and emotional clarity – gaining the tools to navigate life’s challenges.

Counselling doesn’t change the past, but it can help you understand it, make peace with it, and move forward with greater clarity and self-compassion.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to have a “big issue” to come to counselling?
Not at all. Some clients come with something specific they want to work through – others are simply feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or low and want space to talk. Whatever you’re bringing, it’s welcome.
How quickly can I get started?
I usually have availability for a free 15-minute consultation within a week. If it feels like a good fit, we’ll arrange your first full session at a time that works for you.
Where do sessions take place?
All sessions are held remotely (either by phone or over video call) so you can attend from wherever feels comfortable and private.
Do I have to be on camera?
Not at all. You’re welcome to keep your camera off during video call sessions if that feels easier. Phone sessions are also an option.
How long is each session?
Counselling sessions are 50 minutes long. The initial consultation is shorter (around 15 minutes) and completely free of charge.
How much does it cost?
Sessions are £50 each. Payment is taken after the initial consultation and before each session begins. I’ll explain how this works when we speak.
How often will I need to attend?
Most clients attend weekly, especially in the early stages. But this is something we’ll agree together based on what feels right for you.
How many sessions will I need?
There’s no fixed number. Some people come for just a few sessions, others for longer. We’ll review how things are going as we work together and decide what’s helpful.
Is counselling confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is central to creating a safe space. I’ll explain the full confidentiality agreement during your consultation, including the few rare exceptions where I’m legally required to share information.
What if I’ve never done counselling before?
That’s totally okay – many of my clients are new to therapy. I’ll guide you through everything step by step and go at your pace. The most important thing is that you feel safe, supported, and listened to.
Who is your counselling aimed at?
I work with adults and teens (typically 14+) who are struggling with life’s challenges — whether that’s anxiety, stress, family issues, low self-esteem, or feeling stuck or overwhelmed. You don’t need a specific diagnosis or a big reason to come to counselling — if something’s on your mind and you’d like a safe space to talk it through, I’m here to listen and support you.
